closer to home. hurricane watches are in effect all the way up to virginia beach. a tropical storm watch may be issued for ocean city tomorrow. the time watch will be during the day friday. friday is the day things will be affected as the storm passes off shore. if it passes 200 miles offshore, the winds extended out 200 miles from the center. with could still see tropical conditions with heavy rain and big waves. wave heights could be up to 15 feet high and ocean city. the rip currents will be dangerous all weekend. the only day it affects the delmarva beaches will be on friday. we might get some rain in baltimore on friday, but it will be from the front, not the storm. very little effect here in baltimore. mostly sunny today with high temperatures in the mid 90's. sunrise coming up in just a few minutes. mostly clear tonight. temperatures dropping back to around 70 tonight. it will be another hot day on thursday, 92. the front comes through on friday. that gives us the chance for some showers and thunderstorms. then we chop off about 15 degrees. temperatures will be in the 70's on satu

that produced a few sprinkle natural couple of neighborhoods, but now it's drifting south to virginia, and there's really no activity along this front. no precipitation. there was a little bit of a cloud deck that we still have to get through, so we'll call it a mix of sun and clouds as we go through the day today, but again, we don't expect any rain. partly to mostly sunny. and this cloud deck that's right on the edge of your screen there, those are the outer fringes of hurricane igor. we're finally going to say goodbye to igor. it passed across bermuda last night as a category one storm. i did not see any reports of catastrophic damage, but there was a big storm surge with this system, even though it was downgraded to category one. it still carries a big wall of water with it. now it's about 100 miles north of bermuda, and it will continue to track into the open waters of the north atlantic. so we say goodbye to igor. mostly sunny today. again, you'll see a couple of clouds hanging around, but jnl a nice day. going to be a little bit on the breezy side, but a good start to the workweek. clear
